Preventing and Responding to Violence against Women Through Technology Enhanced Education
During the first phase of this project a needs assessment related to technology readiness is the focus of our work.
Phase I activities include:
- creating a model for effective Community Agency/University Partnerships based on best practices of existing partnerships
- conducting a province wide needs assessment that will document the need for Internet-based technology-enhanced professional development and education on violence against women and its impact on children
- expansion of Springtide Resources' ability to provide accessible materials, workshops and training programs through a redesigned web-presence which includes the capacity to provide print resources and training materials through the use of technology and Internet-based capabilities
- maximizing Access to University Resources by leveraging existing technological infrastructure and technology-enhanced learning expertise to provide improved access to info and skills development opportunities for community-based agencies, social services, and marginalized populations
In the future, we plan to secure funding to conduct phase II activities including:
- development of the TEL priorities identified in Phase I.
- development of programs and fee-for-service model
- development of an implementation plan for piloting TEL initiatives, including launch and evaluation
